Screen Printing |
Printing method where ink is forced through fabric mesh and a stencil, onto the material to be printed. |

Number of rows of dots per inch. |
Screen tint |
A colour created with dots rather than solid ink. |
Separations |
Mainly used in four colour process printing where the image is separated into four films/plates. One for each of the four process colour's, cyan, magenta, yellow and black. |

Setoff |
Undesirable transfer of wet ink from the top of a sheet onto the underside of the sheet above. |

Side stitch |
Stapling of sheets together along one edge. |
Solid |
Area of print where the sheet receives 100% ink coverage. |
Spine |
Binding edge or the back of a book or publication. |
Spiral bind |
Binding of sheets using a continuous spiral of wire which is fed through holes. Also called coil binding or wire-o binding. |
Spot colour |
One ink applied to specific areas of the sheet. |
