Term Definition
TIF or TIFF Tagged image file format. File type used to store images from video devices and scanners.
Thermography Method of producing a raised image which takes on the colour of the ink. This is achieved using colourless powder which sticks to the wet ink. Heat is then applied which causes the powder to melt and rise from the surface.
Tint Using a screen or adding white ink in order to lighten the ink colour.
Transparency Positive photographic film image which allows light to pass through.
Trapping A slight overlapping between two touching colours that prevents gaps from appearing along the edges of an object because of misalignment or movement on the printing press.
Trim size The finished cut, or 'trimmed' size of a print job.
Typeface Complete set of characters forming a type family (or font) in a particular design or style.
